World Series Ring Raffle to Benefit the Giants Community Fund, Local Junior Giants League

Proceeds Raised to Support Programs including Lake County Junior Giants and Education, Health and Violence Prevention Initiatives

The Giants Community Fund will benefit from proceeds raised through the World Series Ring Raffle that is now underway. Launched on April 7 during Opening Weekend at AT&T Park, the raffle, conducted by Celebrities for Charity, offers fans the chance to win a 2012 San Francisco Giants World Series Championship Ring, identical to the rings given to Giants players and coaches.

The funds raised from the ring raffle will directly benefit the Giants Community Fund, a nonprofit organization that collaborates with the San Francisco Giants to use baseball as a forum to encourage underserved youth and their families to live healthy, productive lives. The Fund provides a variety of programs dedicated to addressing some of the most pressing needs of children and their families, including health, violence prevention, youth fitness and recreation, education and literacy.

Funds raised from the 2012 World Series Ring Raffle will also support the Junior Giants, the flagship program of the Giants Community Fund which offers free, non-competitive baseball for youth ages 5-18 years old in underserved communities. Serving more than 20,000 children from 176 cities across California, Nevada and Oregon – including Lake County – the Junior Giants program relies on volunteer coaches and community support to deliver an innovative program focused on the Four Bases of Character DevelopmentConfidence, Integrity, Leadership and Teamwork

“Participating in the ring raffle allows our fans the opportunity to forever commemorate our 2012 World Series win while raising hundreds of thousands of dollars to support underserved youth in our community,” said Sue Petersen, executive director of the Giants Community Fund.

Raffle tickets and information are now available online atsfgiants.com/ringraffle.  Minimum purchase is $10.  The online raffle will conclude on June 9, 2013 at 8:59 p.m., PT.  The winner will be announced during the broadcast of the Giants vs. Pirates game on Tuesday, June 11, 2013.
