Shoot your pet! Topel Calendar Deadline Nears

It’s time to shoot your pet again – with a camera, of course!  The deadline for submitting photos of your favorite four-legged friend(s) for the 2014 Topel Wine Tails Calendar is July 31.

Mark and Donnis Topel have published the calendar – which features mutts and purebreds, both canine and feline – since 2009.  Pet guardians from the Bay Area and far beyond submit hundreds of photos of their furry friends in all sorts of settings each year.  The best and funniest are painstakingly selected by Donnis, who gives extra credit to entries with wine and seasonal themes.

Photographs selected for the top fold of each calendar month win a free calendar and a bottle of Topel wine.  The calendars are released for public sale at the annual “Dogtoberfest” – one of the most popular events held at Topel Tasting Room during the year.  This year’s Dogtoberfest will be October 26.

Photographs must be taken with a digital camera (no cell phone photos) and must be high resolution (minimum 300 dpi).               To submit your pet’s photo (or photos), send as an email attachment to topelcalendar@gmail.com by July 31.  Please be sure to include your contact information (name, email, telephone number) plus the name of your pet(s), their birthdate(s) and a short story about them (how they came to join your family, tricks they are famous for, funny things they do, things they like and don’t like!).

Topel Winery pays all production costs associated with the calendar and donates all sales proceeds to an animal charity.  This year’s beneficiary will be Rotts of Friends Animal Rescue.
