Greet your Sunday morning at Jack London’s Beauty Ranch overlooking the vineyards and Sonoma Mountain with an introductory class in Tai Chi Chuan, taught by Park docent and Humboldt State University professor Doc Stull, who will lead simple warm ups, breathing and a short sequence of meditation postures; no experience necessary. Follow this with Michael Sheffield on a contemplative walk in silence broken only by his occasional poetry readings on the trail to the Ancient Redwood “Grandmother Tree,” estimated to be 2,000 years old. At the tree, the group will participate in sharing nature poetry. The day concludes back at the Ranch with a group conversation about the experience.
For the walk wear sturdy shoes, bring poetry to share, water and a snack (there won’t be an official lunch break).
WHEN: Sunday July 13 from 9 am to 1 pm
WHERE: Meet in the Ranch Parking Lot of Jack London State Historic Park
2400 London Ranch Road in Glen Ellen
