Grab a taste of spring with night skies, chili bowls, picnics, games and hikes

PICNIC LUNCH AND GAMES

Whether your game is bridge, cribbage or Maj Jongg, relax and play the afternoon away at the 's Games Day Fundraiser (574 First Street East). A picnic lunch of croissant sandwiches, fruit salad and dessert served at 11:30 a.m. A wide selection of games - board and other - to follow. Cost: $17.

CHILI BOWL EXPRESS

Andrews Hall at the hosts the ultimate chili-off. Pick out a handmade ceramic bowl, fill it with vegetarian or three-meat chili, courtesy of chef and enjoy. Starts at 5 p.m. The Cadillac Converters play at 5:30 p.m. Last year’s Chili Bowl Express sold out, so go early. Cost: $20.

A fun fundraiser! Throughout this month, has been conducting a silent auction of Repo Art. The bidding continues this Saturday, from 6-9 p.m. when the Guild hosts a party. Proceeds from the Repo Show will be shared by the Sonoma Valley High School Scholarship Fund, the Mentor Program and the Student Art Show.

CLOSE UP VIEW OF THE SKIES

The Robert Ferguson Observatory holds two viewing sessions on Saturday, March 26. From noon to 4 p.m., attend the free Public Solar Observing. At 8 p.m. see the night sky through the observatory’s 24 inch telescope or its eight inch refracting scope.  Dress warmly and bring a flashlight. Robert Ferguson Observatory is at   (from Highway 12 take Adobe Canyon Road) Cost: $3 for adults, free for children under 18; parking is $8. More information at: 833-6979.

TASTING IN THE VINEYARDS

Docent Bill Myers will lead hikers through a moderately strenuous walk on Kunde Estate acres, Saturday, March 26 from 10 a.m. till 2 p.m. Wear sturdy shoes or hiking boots,  pack a lunch and some sunscreen. The hike ends in the tasting room. The $30 fee includes wine tasting. Kunde Family Estate, 9825 Highway 12. Call 282-1534 for more information.
