Small Dog Park Discussions for Ernie Smith Community Park

Two public meetings gives dog lovers – and others – a chance to discuss small dog off-leash area at El Verano park

Sonoma County Regional Parks is hosting two meetings at Ernie Smith Community Park to gather input on proposed improvements to the off-leash dog area. Regional Parks is seeking feedback on plans to create a section of dog park for small dogs only.

This improvement has been suggested by dog park users.

Community members interested in commenting on the plans may do so at park meetings scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday, May 3, and 11 a.m. Saturday, May 11.

Ernie Smith Community Park is at 18776 Gillman Drive in the El Verano area of Sonoma.

In addition to an off-leash dog area, the park features a sports field, playground, a basketball court and picnic areas.
