Sonoma Patch's Guide to Kickstart Your Day: Jan. 18

Business building, Tai Chi and the joy of Clay

--This morning, the presents a workshop to help business owners understand the recently revised requirements of the Americans  with Disabilities Act. Business owners have until March 15 to comply. The workshop, held at the from 10 a.m. until noon, includes questions and answers from city officials and information on obtaining financial assistance. Call 996-1033 to register.

 --If you need more business (and who doesn’t!) consider joining The Business Building Network of Sonoma (BNI). The group, a referral exchange program, meets Tuesday mornings from 7- 8:30 a.m. at Sonoma Community Center (276 East Napa Street).  --The Taoist Tai Chi Society is offering a free introductory Tai Chi class at the Sonoma Community Center this morning at 10 a.m. and Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at  It’s a great way to improve strength and flexibility. Call 935-6455 for details.

 --If your cat or dog’s vaccinations are not current, take your animal to the Atimira Veterinary Hospital between 10 a. m. and noon today to be vaccinated. The hospital, located on 735 Broadway, conducts the vaccine clinic on a “first come, first serve” basis. Call 938-4546 for more information.

 --Whatever your level, “Clay with Your Heart”at the Sonoma Community Center will help you achieve joy as you work with clay. Instructor Michiko Kinoshita will demonstrate clay wheel work, hand building and surface decoration techniques from 6 to 9 p.m. starting Jan. 18. The class meets weekly until March 8.
