This Week's Things to Do: March 21

A preschool fair, an old movie, a new magazine and another way to look at San Francisco.

PRESCHOOL FAIR

If you have preschool-aged children, tonight is your chance to learn about the best local programs at . Sponsored by the, the fair begins at 6 p.m. and wraps up by 8 p.m.  First Congregational Church (252 West Spain Street). Free.

BRONTE'S CLASSIC, ON THE BIG SCREEN

The presents the 1939 film "Wuthering Heights," based on Emily Bronte’s novel by the same name. The movie, starring Lawrence Olivier, Merle Oberon and David Niven, was nominated for seven Academy Awards. Show starts at 7 p.m. The film also plays tomorrow at 1 p.m. Tickets are $8 each.

CONTEMPORARY ART IN SAN FRANCISCO SERIES

Take a journey with art historian Ann Wiklund and Sonoma Museum’s Executive Director Kate Eilertsen, as they survey the most important art scene in the country today: San Francisco. This three-part series starts Monday, March 21 at 6 p.m. The series is also being offered Tuesdays, starting March 22 (2 -4 p.m.) at the$50 for members; $60 for non-members.

BE PART OF A NEW MAGAZINE

Publishers of the  recently launched California Northern Magazine talk about the content and direction of their new publication at Reader’s Books, Thursday, March 24 at 7 p.m. Learn how you can contribute to the new regional pub, with photography or articles. 

GLEN ELLEN VILLAGE FAIR

The Glen Ellen Village Fair needs quilters to donate a square for their traditional  quilt fundraiser. "Historic Glen Ellen" is this year’s theme. Clean pre-washed cotton squares, at least 13 inches by 13 inches. Must be delivered by March 31. Call Lisa Hardy at 707-996-9305 for details.
