A severe winter storm impacting the East Coast and Midwest this weekend has caused a number of flight cancellations and delays at San Francisco International Airport Sunday, a duty manager said.

As of 1 p.m., 19 flights had been canceled due to winter weather back East, SFO duty manager Nancy Parker said.

Many more flights arriving and departing from those cities were being delayed between one and two hours, she said. Delays were expected to continue throughout the day.

As always, passengers taking off from SFO should check with individual air carriers before departing for the airport.
