Would You Buy a Lady Gaga Pinot?

The rumor mill pushed into high gear last weekend, during Lady Gaga's through Sonoma County – with stops in Sonoma, Napa and Geyserville. Sources and speculators had some thoughts on the larger-than-life singer's sudden presence in small town life: Perhaps she's looking for a house, or taking a reprieve from city living?

Add this to the list: The Sun, a UK-based gossip publication, reports the singer was looking at vineyards while in Sonoma last week, and is toying with purchasing one as an investment. 

According to the Sun, Gaga is 'a foodie,' and has become increasingly interested in the production (and consumption) of red wine after several European tours.

The Sun reports that Gaga is interested in purchasing a vineyard as her plan-b, a business to run with boyfriend Taylor Kinney if her singing career falls short.

It's a toss up as to how accurate this intelligence is (the tip-off comes from an 'anonymous source.') It's also hard to envision Lady Gaga – with her record breaking album sales, 20 million Twitter followers, and groundbreaking music videos (one of which held the record for most-viewed video of all time) – as needing a backup plan.

But, who is to argue with the romance of wine-production, especially to those who know little about the mechanics of it.
