Updated: Coming to You Live Streaming...Sonoma's Resident Music Prodigy

Catch the performances of Sonoma native Nigel Armstrong, Monday and Tuesday morning, as he competes in final round of the Tchaikovsky Competition.

Nigel Armstrong, Sonoma's resident violin prodigy, is making a name for himself in classical music with recent wins in a number of national and international competitions. 

Now, the Colburn School senior is competing in the International Tchaikovsky Competition, a career-making event held every four-years in Russia for pianists, violinists, and cellists between 16 and 30-years-old.

This competition has started some of classical music's greats, including Van Cliburn and Boris Gutnikov, on their path to success.

After three rounds, Armstrong's made it to the finals!

Catch his performance of the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto Monday, June 27 at 8 a.m.; he'll play the Prokofiev Violin Concerto No. 1 on Tuesday, June 28 at 8:45 a.m. Both concerti will be performed with live orchestra.

Final awards will be broadcast Thursday, June 30 at 9 a.m.
