Critically Acclaimed Classical Guitarist to Perform in Sonoma

David Rogers will perform at Hopmonk Tavern later this year.

A critically acclaimed classical guitarist is coming to Sonoma.

David Rogers will perfrom at the Hopmonk Tavern in Sonoma (691 Broadway) on Sept. 15 from 1 to 3 p.m.

Rogers has been featured in  in major guitar magazines such as Fingerstyle Guitar in the United States and Akustic Gitarre, in Germany.

He's gotten nice mentions in national publications including the New York Times,  and the Washington Post.

Rogers got especially high praise from the Post, which described his improvisational performances as "astonishingly florid."

His Sonoma performance will feature genres ranging from the classics to the contemporary, with several Spanish guitar solos and Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah along with Sisters of Mercy, the Rolling Stones and the Beatles covers.

He'll also premier an original arrangement of Bryan Ferry's "More Than This."
