Unknown until now, Joe explains Napa's key role about how "Napa Beer" played an important rise of agriculture in the building of the American West, with a unique twist.  The beer-thirsty population of 49er miners, mostly men, energized the Napa Valley agriculture - led by Napa banker Edward Churchill - to grow barley and hops.

Join in to refresh yourself.  Celebrate California's Birthday as a state by learning something new about the place you live and the building of our nation.

Caution!  If this causes you to want to drink a beer, then share this story with a friend.
