Are You Smarter’ is a wacky and family friendly competition spoofing the popular game show hosted by Jeff Foxworthy. This is an opportunity for local “celebrities” and community leaders, backed by the district’s public school 5th graders, to vie for the coveted lunch box trophy and title of 2011 Champion. The emcee for the zany and fun filled competition will be Sonoma local, Mark Danon of KRON 4 Morning News.

Mark will be asking contestants questions from the 5th Grade California State Standards in Math, Science, Social Studies and English during the three elimination rounds and a final round to declare a winner. Competitors include: Infineon President Steve Page, local promoter Michael Coats, Founder & CEO of Socialogue Chip Roberson, actor Squire Fridell, animal lover, Rotarian and marketing guru Rich Lee, former Marine Fighter Pilot Ed McCormick and a top scholar from Sonoma Valley High School with more to be announced. Guests and contestants will be able to enjoy casual food, beer and local wine for sale, a silent auction, raffle and Fund a Need for the Exploratorium Science Program. The event begins with door opening at 5:00 PM and the show starting at 6:00 PM. Tickets are a very reasonable $25 a person and can be purchased online at www.svgreatschools.com or by calling (707) 935-9566.
