Hospice By The Bay's 26th Annual Lights of Remembrance

Hospice By The Bay’s annual Lights of Remembrance candle- and tree-lighting ceremony, at the Southwest corner of Sonoma Plaza, is a treasured 26-year-old tradition. All ages are invited to attend this community gathering to honor loved ones who have been lights in their lives. The program includes a sharing of inspiring messages, music and reflection before the Hospice Tree is lit by a local family. Through December, these lights will illuminate the winter darkness, each one a shining gift to someone special. Community members are invited to sponsor a light on the Hospice Tree, as a tribute to a special person in their lives or in memory of someone who has died, by making a tax-deductible donation to Hospice By The Bay. The lights are a symbolic gesture of love and memory to be shared with the entire Sonoma community. Contributions allow Hospice By The Bay to provide compassionate services throughout the year to those in need.

“Holidays can be difficult for families who have lost loved ones,” says Hospice By The Bay CEO Sandra Lew. “Coming together for comfort as a community and making the simple gesture of lighting candles provide tangible ways to acknowledge and connect to those who are important to us.”

To sponsor a light, or for information about the Celebration of Lights, call Hospice By The Bay at (415) 526-5500, or visit www.hbtb.org
