MARTIN, MARTIN & McCLEAN HEADLINE “SONGWRITERS IN SONOMA” ON THURSDAY, MAY 12

SONOMA, CA.—Singer, songwriter and guitarist Chi McClean joins the father and son team of Tom Martin and Dan Martin on  Thursday, May 12th at 7 p.m. as a part of the Meadowcroft Wines’ “Songwriters In Sonoma” music series.  The show takes place in the Meadowcroft Wines tasting room at 23574 Arnold Drive/Hwy 121 in the Cornerstone Sonoma complex.  Tickets are $10 per person and include a glass of wine.  This is a 21 and over show.  Cheese plates and something special from the Hot Pot will be available for purchase in addition to glasses and bottles of wine.  Hot Pot selections have included Tortilla soup, Chili, Gumbo and Jambalaya. Songwriters In Sonoma is booked and hosted by Gerard Serafini, owner of Sonoma Valley Music store, and is sponsored by MusicNomad.com and Sonoma Valley Music.

Chi McClean (www.chimcclean.com) was born and raised in New York before heading out to California in a beat up truck looking for a change.  He settled in San Francisco where he developed his honest, introspective approach to songwriting.  Influenced by Jimi Hendrix, The Allman Brothers Band and the Black Crows, his music has been described as Southern Rock.  His debut CD Something Out There was released in 2009 with its follow-up CD set for release in the Fall.

Tom Martin has been playing music since 1965.  With more than 100 songs copyrighted, their influences include folk, blues, rock, country, jazz and swing.  Tom also plays lead guitar for Cynthia Carr and the Carrtunes as well as the Sonoma Mountain Band.  He has gigged, recorded or jammed with Van Dyke Parks, Neal Schoen and Steve Perry before their days in Journey, members of the Ozark Mountain Daredevils and others.

Dan Martin (www.nomarocksteady.com) is a musician from Sonoma with a deep love and respect for reggae music.  His music is straight forward and from the heart, blending rock steady rhythms with a background in folk music inspired by the music his family played together.  Dan Martin is the son of Tom Martin.

Meadowcroft Wines (www.meadowcroftwines.com) includes the Meadowcroft, Magito and Thomas Henry labels.  Winemaker Tom Meadowcroft also makes the wines for the Foyt Family Wines (www.foytfamilywines.com).  There are presently 20 wines being poured at the tasting room including the just released 2008 Meadowcroft Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2007 Meadowcroft Sonoma County Syrah and two new Rieslings, a 2010 Meadowcroft and a 2010 Thomas Henry.  The tasting room is part of the Cornerstone Sonoma (www.cornerstonesonoma.com) complex that features 22 world class gardens, a gourmet café, art galleries and cutting edge design shops all set among acres of vineyards.

Meadowcroft Wines is open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.  The venue is available for private parties, private tastings, wine dinners and other events.  With plenty of free parking at Cornerstone Sonoma, the area is a perfect setting for any type of event, both indoors or outdoors.
