“This will be a special night as we bring together three dynamic female performers for our June show.  Each with a distinct style, this is sure to make for a great night of music,” said Tom Meadowcroft, winemaker and owner of Meadowcroft Wines.  “It is also very rewarding to see that the Songwriters In Sonoma shows have been so well received in the community.”

Cheese plates and something special from Chef Darby’s Hot Pot will be available for purchase in addition to glasses and bottles of wine.  “Songwriters In Sonoma” is booked and hosted by Gerard Serafini, owner of Sonoma Valley Music store, and is sponsored by MusicNomad.com and Sonoma Valley Music.

Whether it’s her hometown of Yonkers, New York or the honky-tonks of Montana, where she honed her performing skills both as a solo artist and in a duo called The Mayfair Girls, Deirdre Egan’s (www.myspace.com/diedreregan) songs provide snapshots of lives, situations and emotions.  In addition to songwriting, Egan is a multi-instrumentalist who plays guitar, piano and the Irish harp.  Her songs take the listener on an introspective journey of love, lost and found, ancestry and observations of everyday lives and injustice, as well as traditional and original Celtic tunes.

Homegrown and haunting, Kelly McFarling’s (www.kellymcfarling.com) voice spirals powerfully and progressively over a bed of oldtimey instrumentation.  Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia where she learned to sing in church choirs and baseball stadiums, and learned to write through the stories of Flannery O’Connor and Toni Morrison.  She has since wandered out West where she can be found in the back rooms of San Francisco bars plucking banjo and singing siren songs.  Dubbed “original rhythm and Bluegrass,” her songs are inspired by hard truths and transitions, bold honest lyrics and authentic melodies that stay with you long after the song is over.

Keeley Valentino (www.keeleyvalentino.com) became serious about pursuing a career as a professional musician when she was an undergraduate at Vanderbilt University in Nashville.  She took songwriting classes and soon after released her first album “The Mechanics of Leaving” that was released in 2006.  The Novato native cites Patty Griffin, Emmylou Harris, Beth Nielsen Chapman and Amy Grant as her biggest musical influences.  Her own sound is a soulfully electric and joyful flavor of folk-pop that lives somewhere amongst the innocence of Colby Caillat, the sexiness of Norah Jones and the lyrical depth of Lisa Loeb.

Meadowcroft Wines (www.meadowcroftwines.com) includes the Meadowcroft, Magito and Thomas Henry labels.  Winemaker Tom Meadowcroft also makes the wines for the Foyt Family Wines (www.foytfamilywines.com).  There are presently 20 wines being poured at the tasting room including the just released 2008 Meadowcroft Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2007 Meadowcroft Sonoma County Syrah and two new Rieslings, a 2010 Meadowcroft and a 2010 Thomas Henry.  The tasting room is part of the Cornerstone Sonoma (www.cornerstonesonoma.com) complex that features 22 world class gardens, a gourmet café, art galleries and cutting edge design shops all set among acres of vineyards.

Meadowcroft Wines is open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.  The venue is available for private parties, private tastings, wine dinners and other events.  With plenty of free parking at Cornerstone Sonoma, the area is a perfect setting for any type of event, both indoors or outdoors.
