Songwriters In Sonoma at Meadowcroft Wines

Our monthly songwriters series continues on Thursday, September 15th  at 7 p.m. featuring a brand new line-up of Sonoma County musicians;

ASHLEY ALLRED, DARWIN MEINERS

AND COALMINE SPINDLE

Ashley Allred is a singer-songwriter who usually goes by the pseudonym “Odd Bird.”  She writes music that is soft, pure, and unequivocally sincere using her autoharp and guitar to duet her voice. Her music has the apparent warmth and coziness of... a late night with red wine, but also an ethereal, innocent whimsy of a day spent out in the garden, which compliments the simple wonder contained in the lyrics Allred pens.

After moving to Sonoma County as a child, Darwin Meiners has been in several bands, collaborated with many musicians and produced/recorded/mixed albums of his own and for others. His latest project finds him teaming with producer David J (Bauhaus and Love & Rockets) and Kevin Dippold (Smashing pumpkins producer/engineer) to produce his first proper solo album.  The disc will contain a set of Darwin’s most personal songs.  Titled “So Few Comets,” the disc will be available in early 2012.

Coalmine Spindle is a San Francisco native who started his professional musical career with SF indie band Restro Bay Waters and then soon after, the alt-country start up Sterno Sound, but quickly found a home in Sonoma County where he started The Spindles.  They eventually became the seven-piece behemoth that was a fan favorite for their complex melodies and driving progressions, and earned a place in the hearts of the Santa Rosa music scene.

Songwriters In Sonoma is hosted each month by Gerard Serafini of Sonoma Valley Music and sponsored by MusicNomad.com.

Tickets are $15 per person and include your first glass of wine.
Local artisan cheese and charcuterie plates will be available for purchase throughout the evening.

Reservations are recommended and may be made by calling the tasting room 707-934-4090.
