"The Titanic Story" exhibit at Depot Park Museum

The "Titanic Story" opened February 16, at the Depot Park Museum, one block north of the plaza. The exhibit shows the beautiful liner as it left Southampton, England, and views of the lifeboats as they reached the rescue ship.  Several stories about survivors are revealed, as well as the true story of J. Dawson. This was a name featured in James Cameron's "Titanic" 1997 movie.  It is the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic, which occurred on April 15, 1912. Several local residents have contributed their artifacts and memorabilia as well. The exhibit will close May 30. The museum is open Thursday through Sunday, from 1 to 4:30 p.m., and admission is free. Call 938-1762 for further details.
