Friday:

Sonoma High School’s safe and sober Grad Night is Friday night. The Grad Night Committee invites the community to come and preview the festivities from 6-8:30 p.m. just before the grads arrive. See the dramatic change from high school to fantasy land. Take a look at the wonderful activities in store for the new grads. Wonder at the stunningly-themed decorations that help keep 18 year-olds entertained through the night. Congratulations Class of 2011 (and parents too).

UPDATE: The Saturday event has been canceled. Locals and race fans will enjoy samplings from more than 20 Sonoma Valley purveyors when the Historic Race Car Festival returns to the Sonoma Plaza on Saturday from 5-8 p.m. While enjoying local food and wine, attendees can enjoy a close-up look at the race cars from the Sonoma Historic Motorsports Festival. McLaren will take center stage as the featured marque at the Sonoma Historic Motorsports Festival, June 4-5. The legendary McLaren name, which has graced the halls of motor sports since Bruce McLaren founded his racing team in 1963, will headline a full weekend of vintage racing, alongside machines from Porsche, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Corvette and many more!

Sunday:

The community is welcome to to the 2nd Annual Poker Run/ Car Show Fundraiser sponsored by the Butterfly Fund for the Cody Cordellos Trust Fund. The Poker run registration is at 8 a.m., with breakfast available. The poker run leaves then returns at noon. There’s fun for the whole family, including great local music, delicious food, games, arts and crafts and more.  

If you go: To participate in the poker run/car show it’s $25, to enjoy the days festivities it’s $15, children between 5-12 are $10 and children under 5 are free from noon - 5 p.m. at the , 20580 Broadway, in Sonoma. Pre-registration forms can be picked up at in Sonoma.  

Sunday:

Sorry, everyone, but shortly after publishing we learned the annual Ox Roast has been canceled due to concerns about expected heavy rains this weekend in Sonoma and throughout the North Bay.

Join this fun filled day on the Plaza! Events include a barbecue, corn on the cob, salad, wine, live music, kid's games, art, and small town fun. The roasted ox (along with some scrumptious sauces)  Come on down, be hungry and get happy!

If you go: The food starts being served at 11 a.m. and the afternoon music includes the Airforce Band, Mobility, and Backtrax.  A plate of food (including all the goodies) is $12 with a kid's plate $7.  A glass of wine is $5 and includes a commemorative wine glass.
