Morning Show Makes Connections, Supplies

A projector changes hands.

In a small community neighbors often step in to help each other out. But, how do those in need connect with the supplies they might need?

Well, sometimes the media steps in.

On regular mornings, Sun FM 91.3 airs Ken Brown's "Mornings in Sonoma" show, a modern version of a variety hour, where local nonprofits, residents and business owners have a chance to air their thoughts and needs in a public forum.

On Dec. 10, during the Arts Guild of Sonoma's regular morning slot the group voiced a need: they were looking for a projector in order to show art films during an upcoming show.

Then fate took play. The Sonoma Branch of the , was listening that morning.

"The bank had one that needed repairs," wrote Brown in an e-mail. "They repaired it."

Last Tuesday, the bank and the Arts Guild made the trade off--from one neighbor to another.
