Two-time Tony Award winner Sutton Foster headlines the season’s Transcendence Artist Series from the Transcendence Theatre Company, who also present the award-winning Broadway Under the Stars program.
The Transcendence Artist Series is a collection of one-night only concerts with individual artists in a variety of settings throughout Northern California’s wine country. Two of the performances will be at the majestic open-air winery ruins in Sonoma's Jack London State Historic Park, and two will be in Benziger Family Winery Wine Caves. All performances begin at 7:30 p.m.
Says TTC Artistic Director Amy Miller, “We are so thrilled to share with our audiences the remarkable talents of these brilliant artists whose work goes beyond the usual limits to inspire us all to live life to the fullest.”
Broadway singer, actor and dancer Foster, along with her musical director and accompanist Michael Rafter, will headline the series with a Thursday, August 1 appearance at Jack London. Best known for her Tony Award-winning performances in Anything Goes and Thoroughly Modern Millie on Broadway, Foster also originated leading roles in The Drowsy Chaperone, Little Women, Young Frankenstein and Shrek the Musical, and is currently starring in ABC family’s new series Bunheads.
Other performances in the Artists Series will include singer/songwriter and YouTube sensation, Carrie Manolakos, Saturday July 13 at Benziger. Her concert follows her journey from Broadway (Mamma Mia) to her life as an independent artist. This concert, featuring songs from her debut album, Echo, promises to be historic.
TTC founding member Leah Sprecher presents her one-woman show Old at Heart chronicling her unique and endearing kinship with old ladies in this hilarious, but powerfully touching show full of songs, characters and anecdotal stories. The date will be Tuesday Aug. 13, at the Benziger Family Winery
The Stephanie Cadman Trio will star on Saturday, August 24th. The world-champion tap dancer and Celtic fiddle player returns by popular demand for an exclusive one night performance back at Jack London State Historic Park.
The Transcendence Artist Series will be presented in addition to TTC’s previously announced lineup of Broadway Under the Stars concerts in the majestic open-air winery ruins in Sonoma's Jack London State Historic Park.
