Sonoma Music Festival Vol. 1 Brings Soul to Community Center

The sell-out fund raiser benefits Pets Lifeline. Volume 2 is expected around Valentine's Day 2013.

The first version of Sonoma Music Festival filled the Community Center with blues and soul Wednesday night.

The event was a fund raiser for , a Sonoma non-profit pet refuge.

Wednesday night's event drew a full house of 100 guests. Performers included Talk That Talk, Rett Hamer Blues Band, Sean Carscadden, Marty O'Reilly and Sarah Summers.

Pets Lifeline plans to offer more music festivals. Wednesday night's version was billed as Volume 1—the inaugural event—with Volume 2 expected around Valentine's Day in 2013. A third event is anticipated in the late summer or early Fall next year. Volume 2 is expected to be held at the Veterans Center, and Volume 3 is planned for the nearby Field of Dreams, according to Pets Lifeline's Nancy King.
