Sonoma Weekend Planner August 26-28

From the Rotary Club of Sonoma Valley's golf tournament and their Festa Sonoma to cocktails in Quarryhill's botanical garden, the Indy® Grand Prix of Sonoma and Neil Simon's classic play, "The Odd Couple," we've got you covered this weekend.

Friday:

This is one of the major fundraisers for the in support of its many community projects and partners, including the .

If you go: Entry fee is $175 per golfer, which includes on-course beverages, box lunch, best-ball scramble, long drive holes, hole-in-one for a Camaro, closest to the pin, great tee prizes and awards, as well as a ticket to that night's Festa Sonoma dinner. Shotgun start is at noon at Eagle Vines Golf Club, 580 S. Kelly Road in Napa.

Enjoy an evening in Tuscany without ever leaving Sonoma, as the turns the Sonoma Veterans Hall into a festive Tuscan Taverna. Join friends and family for an evening in Quarryhill’s the renowned botanical garden, with cocktails, delicious cocktail cuisine and a rare opportunity to meet Quarryhills esteemed advisors.

INDYCAR revs up for Sonoma as the cars and stars of the Indianapolis 500® invade Infineon Raceway for the seventh consecutive year at the Indy® Grand Prix of Sonoma. Drivers like Dario Franchitti, Helio Castroneves and Danica Patrick will reach speeds in excess of 170 mph on the most challenging road course on the circuit. You’ll enjoy a full weekend of racing with the Historic Grand Prix, Formula Car Challenge, Star Mazda Championship and SCCA World Challenge.

In addition to the on-track racing, fans will enjoy Military Appreciation Day, an autograph session, the only race-day air show on the INDYCAR circuit, and more!  We’ll also honor open-wheel greats Al Unser Jr., Rick Mears and Johnny Rutherford as part of our season-long Legends in Sonoma program.

Thursday-Sunday:

"The Odd Couple" opens on a hot summer night in the large, twelfth-floor apartment of New York City sports writer Oscar Madison. A few months earlier, before Oscar’s wife left him, the apartment had reflected the modest luxury of its Riverside Drive neighborhood on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. But the apartment is now a mess because Oscar is extremely sloppy. Hilarity ensues as Oscar, newly divorced, and his best friend, neat freak and newly separated Felix navigate the “newly single” waters as roommates. Presented by Sonoma Stage Works and written by Neil Simon, "The Odd Couple" is directed by Roy Jiminez. Come and check out the fabulous local talent.

Thursday’s opening night reception begins at 7 p.m. with the show starting at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday shows begin at 8 p.m. and Sunday’s show begins at 3 p.m. in Andrews Hall, , 276 E Napa Street in Sonoma. The show continues until September 11.
