The Moon Beckons Transcendence Theater This Season

The local musical troupe Transcendence Theatre kicks off its second annual Broadway Under The Stars in Jack London State Park summer series with “Fly Me To The Moon,” opening on Friday, June 28.

The show features Broadway performers Carrie Manolakos, Nili Bassman and Q Smith and 14 other Broadway and Hollywood actors to perform songs from Broadway’s greatest composers, including Rodgers & Hammerstein, Stephen Sondheim, George Gershwin, Andrew Lloyd Webber and others.

“Fly Me to the Moon” journeys through many of the greatest, most familiar tunes of Broadway and the Great American Songbook. "Inspired by the unique and brash optimism of the American musical, this show is all about soaring beyond the usual limits through music," said Stephan Stubbins of the Transcendence Theatre Co.
