Public Star Party at Sugarloaf State Park

Come see a sky full of stars, starting at 9 p.m. on Saturday, May 19.

Looking for a school volunteer event for you kid? How about a perfect, inexpensive, romantic date or a great way to enjoy nature? Come out to the Robert Fergusen Observatory at Sugarloaf Ridge State Park on Saturday, May 19 for a public star party!

The observatory's three main telescopes, plus many additional telescopes, are open for viewing starting at 9 p.m. If that's not great enough, there are presentations throughout the night on an array of astronomical topics in nearby classrooms. Plus, on hand will be knowledgeable and friendly docents to answer any questions.

If you go: Organizers are asking the public to please  arrive before 11 p.m. to assure the park stays open for you. Admission is $3 for adults, free for 18 and under. Parking at the state park is $8.
