Regional Health Care Authority to Meet in Sonoma

The Northern California Health Care Authority, the regional organization of healthcare districts in Sonoma, Mendocino and parts of Humboldt Counties, is having a rare meeting in Sonoma next week.

The Tuesday, July 16 meeting will be at Sonoma Valley District Hospital, beginning at 6 p.m. It is open to the public, and the agenda (attached) does include time for public comment on the issues under discussion during their consideration, and on those not under discussion as well in a special public comment session at the outset of the meeting.

Subjects under discussion include consideration of the 2013-2014 draft budget, discussion of bylaw amendments on timing of electing officers, and "Consideration of Engagement of Kurt Hahn in an Administrative Role to be Determined."

Hahn, a former president of the North Sonoma County Healthcare District based in Healdsburg, resigned due to health reasons at the beginning of the year.

The health districts in the Authority include: Palm Drive, Sonoma Valley, North Sonoma County, Mendocino Coast and South Humboldt Community healthcare districts.
