Last Tuesday Night Farmers' Market: A Photo Tour

Before tonight's market, take a moment to peruse this season's Sonoma Farmers Market photo contest winners.

Long sunny summer days are starting to end earlier, and a faint chill is in the air. In Sonoma, this means the beginning of winter, and the end of a season of the – better known as 'the Tuesday Night Market.'

The Tuesday Night Market is more than just a place to pick up fresh produce (though it offers an abundance) it's a place to gather as a community. Since coming to town, I've had people tell me the Tuesday Night Market is their favorite thing about Sonoma. I've had more than one resident tell me they fall into a bit of a funk when the market closes up shop during the winter season.

In honor of the last Tuesday Night Market of the season, we're hosting some of the winners from the Sonoma Farmers Market facebook group's "photo of the week" contest. Check out the beautiful shots at right.

And, the group advocates, there's still plenty of other ways to enjoy fresh produce around town:

Glen Ellen Community Farmers Market goes until October 30th, Friday morning happens all year and the Sonoma Garden Park has a Saturday morning market that is great as well. In fact, fan up Sonoma Ecology Center, because they have many ongoing events over there, and this month there are some really fun ones!
