Alleged Attacker of Austin Ridge Faces Charges

Logan Dunning faces four felony counts including attempted murder, mayhem resulting in the injury of a disabled person, two counts of felony assault.

 

The young Boyes Hot Springs resident charged with car burglaries and arson fires in west Santa Rosa, Logan Dunning, 22, now faces official charges in the beating and stabbing of .

Ridge, 28, rode in the , marking his first visible appearance following the April 25 incident. At that time he was found beaten and stabbed after midnight by an unknown assailant.

Dunning was eventually suspected of the crime and , but charges were withheld until this morning's appearance before Superior Court Judge Robert LaForge. "Now, Dunning is charged with four felonies with multiple enhancements that could lead to a long prison sentence," the Press Democrat reported today.  

According to the Press Democrat story, Ridge - who has been following an auto accident - was planning on attending the hearing today but decided last night not to go. His mother and other family members were in the court audience this morning.

At the June 21 appearance, Dunning was in a wheelchair for unexplained reasons.

He will return to court on July 19 to enter a plea. He remains in custody at the Sonoma County Jail, bail set at over $1 million.
