Daytona Winner Publicizes Infineon's Spring Cup With a San Francisco Victory Lap

The winner of this year's Daytona 500 is taking a victory lap around San Francisco today.

Matt Kenseth, who won the prestigious NASCAR Sprint Cup series race held in Daytona Beach, Fla., on Monday, is riding a motorized vintage cable car across the Golden Gate Bridge and around the city this morning.

The tour, also meant to publicize the NASCAR Sprint Cup race at the in Sonoma in June, was scheduled to begin at Vista Point on the north side of the Golden Gate Bridge.

Kenseth then planned to travel across the bridge and head to Fisherman's Grotto No. 9 at Fisherman's Wharf to crack some Dungeness crab, before making a final stop for a sundae at the Ghirardelli Ice Cream & Chocolate Shop.

The tour is scheduled to end with a news conference and fan rally at 11:30 a.m. in Ghirardelli Square.

The event is open to the public, and fans who buy tickets to the Toyota/Save Mart 350 -- the race being held at Infineon Raceway on June 24 -- will receive access to a preferred area and may get to ask Kenseth a question.

The news conference will be streamed live online.

Kenseth won a wet and wild Daytona 500 that was postponed from Sunday to Monday because of rain, then delayed again for hours Monday night after driver Juan Pablo Montoya struck a dryer truck on the track, causing a fiery explosion.
