Search for Missing Man Gains Momentum Following Local Sightings

The search for a Sacramento area man who is believed to have suffered a manic episode and has been missing for four months has kicked into high gear this week after several people reported seeing him in Annadel State Park and at several spots around Rohnert Park.

Jason Kyles, a 34-year-old landscape contractor, disappeared on February 1. He was later spotted near Lake Ilsanjo, but the leads led nowhere.

Now family members have renewed hope of finding Kyles alive after receiving multiple tips from residents saying they have seen an extremely tall, lanky man walking around Santa Rosa, near a Rohnert Park motel and near the KFC on Commerce Boulevard.

Kyles is described as 6’6 tall, 180 pounds, with sandy brown hair and blue green eyes.  He was last seen wearing short brown pants and green running shoes. His family believes he suffers from an undiagnosed mental illness and may be avoiding people. They’ve also created a Find Jason Kyles page on Facebook where people can report sightings and have organized multiple search parties.

People who have never met Kyles have gotten involved in finding him and some have even posted messages for him on Facebook, hoping that he will read their words of support.

“Regardless of what you're thinking that you're safe on the run, truly you're not,” wrote Phoenixa Sol. “Some folks will tell you anything to keep you out running, but it's a dangerous world out there…Come on back to your family Jason, we're all very worried.”

To get involved in finding Kyles or to report a sighting, visit the Find Jason Kyles page.
