Councilman Ken Brown and his family have been living rent-free in their Amedeo Court home for roughly six months, the Press Democrat reported Saturday.
The four-term councilman, a vocal supporter of the "Occupy" movement, said his situation is another example of the state of the economy and housing crisis. He asserts that he's acting within tenant's rights laws — his landlord went into foreclosure last September.
Brown told the Press Democrat that “we've been renters for three decades and we've never had an issue with a landlord.” Now, the family faces eviction.
