A Story for the World

Greetings Sonoma & Ramona & other parts of the world. This is Blog Post 3 in a series that develops a story. The first post was on www.SonomaValley.Patch.com & the 2nd went on www.Ramona.Patch.com .

Though my story is based in Sonoma, it turns out that Ramona readers are interested too. In fact, it’s a story that could be told about any town in any country of the world. What links us all is our humanity. In the end, the whole world is our home.

With that thought in mind, I want to welcome my writing students from various parts of the globe. We have a lot to catch up on, having lost touch a bit over the past 2-½ years while I was working as an editor for Patch Media, a news subsidiary of AOL. Life with Patch was hectic, exciting, challenging, rewarding, expanding, exhausting, & a whole lot of fun.

Just as I learned a lot while working in various towns for Patch, I have learned so much over the years from my students, who hail from as far afield as Palestine, Lebanon, Iran, China, Taiwan, Japan, Russia, Sri Lanka, Mexico, France & Germany. I am humbled & impressed by your tenacity & courage, studying in a foreign country, in a foreign language.

Welcome here to this blog to hear a story set in California's wine country. While it is uniquely American & specifically Sonoman, it is a story for the world.
