Fathers Day Weekend Events in Sonoma Valley

Mothers get all the love and flowers, but Dads get all the beer.

 

For some reason Mother's Day generates a lot more interest than Father's Day. There are , , and very special girls-only pedicure parties, or so I'm told. I'm not saying Dads get the short end of the deal, however - how many guys do you know who get all giddy over greeting cards?

But you've gotta do what you gotta do, and what we gotta do is give you a list of things to do in Sonoma Valley this weekend. And guess what? Sunday is Father's Day! How about joining Dad on one of the following adventures:

June 15 - 17:
Okay, right off the bat, this is a little unlikely. But not impossible, and maybe even not all that unusual (Remember Beginners?). It's three days of LGBT-friendly events and company, hosted by and several local restaurants and wineries. .

Guys like game, right? Big game, small game, things that scurry underwater. So roll up your sleeves, put on your bib, and dive on in to a fabulous feast of crustaceans.  Cost is $90, less if you're a wine club member. Sunday, June 17:  Special Father's Day Menu at Community Café
From  7:00 am Sunday morning, the will be serving several Father's Day specials in addition to their regular menu . Specials include Smoked Salmon & Asparagus Benedict, Steak & Eggs with Benton’s Bacon Gravy, Texas Benedict,  and Corned beef hash topped with two poached eggs and hollandaise sauce. Don't forget to order Dad a mimosa (it's only five bucks, he'll never know).


Feeling a bit more upscale? Try the at the Ledson, between 9 and 1 pm. For one day only (that would be Sunday) chef Justin will prepare a special Man’s Benedict with prime filet, paired for that day only with the 2010 Ledson Russian River Valley Pinot Noir. June 17: Classic Car Cruise-In @ B.R.Cohn Winery
Now we're talking: Cars. If you haven't seen the classic cars that proprietor B.R. has collected, you're in for a treat.  Just show up at the B.R. Cohn tasting room 11 am-4 pm to get an eyeful of the great selection of specially invited classic cars on display. Naturally they'll be pouring the Classic Car Wine series, and there's an oyster food cart for lunch. 15000 Sonoma Hwy, Glen Ellen. Call 800-330-4064 for information.

June 17: Wet Paint: Feast on Art
Sonoma Valley Museum of Art 's annual Wet Paint gala dinner and auction takes place at , Sunday at 5:30. Help support the Museum's year-round exhibitions and programs by attending a magical evening of food and art. Special item: the auctioning off of a trip to Cuba.
