CITY COUNCIL TO ACT TONIGHT ON HOTEL MEASURE---What's Next?

Adopt the measure, Order an impact study, or Push a vote.

Mayor Brown said there is a "process" in place.  Rouse laughed that enough signatures won't possibly be gathered to worry about City Manager Giovanatto researching a consultants feasibility impact report.  Now they are on a short leash and may not have enough time to react.  They only have 30 days to get the report and another 10 days to act.

Preserving Sonoma gathered more than the necessary signatures in record time just as predicted by organizer Larry Barnett.

Now the signatures are in, we should see a mad dash scramble Monday night at the next City Council meeting to get that feasibility impact study ordered.

PREDICTION:  THE IMPACT STUDY REPORT WILL COME BACK WITHOUT ISSUES AND IN SUPPORT OF THE HOTEL and perhaps even a vote by Council to support the hotel.  Additionally, City Council will likely bypass a vote of their own and opt for placing it on the November ballot.

What do you think Sonoma?  Does City Council support the hotel or the ballot measure?  When will this silence end?

Makes sense to me Ralph. And I suspect it makes sense to thousands of other Sonomans who are reading these posts but refraining from commenting.

Don't kid yourself. Given the tone that dominates the Patch with the same half dozen characters pursuing their cockamamie conspiracy theories and personal attacks on other local residents, I would put the readership in the dozens. I feel like I'm slumming when I post here, so the question is: why argue with loony people? I may have to give up this bad habit.
