13 Arrested at DUI Checkpoint During Holiday Enforcement Period

Sonoma County DUI campaign has netted 161 arrests since Aug. 19

The "Avoid the 13" Sonoma County DUI task force conducted a
DUI/driver's license checkpoint in Santa Rosa Friday night, which resulted in 13 arrests, Petaluma police said.

The checkpoint, held on Fourth Street near Farmers Lane, screened
1,550 drivers from 6 p.m. to midnight. Of those screened, two were arrested on suspicion of drunken driving, one on suspicion of possessing illegal drugs, four on suspicion of driving on a suspended license and six on suspicion of driving without a license, police said.

Both drivers arrested on suspicion of DUI had a blood alcohol level more than twice the legal limit, police said.
