Driver in Kenwood Crash Remains in Critical Condition

The woman was driving west on state Highway 12 east of Kunde Winery Road in Kenwood when her 2002 Nissan Maxima drifted to the right, according to CHP officials.

 

A Santa Rosa woman who was injured in a two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon remains in critical condition at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital this morning.

Lorine Gamlen, 86, was driving west on state Highway 12 east of Kunde Winery Road in Kenwood when her 2002 Nissan Maxima drifted to the right, according to the California Highway Patrol.

While trying to regain control of her car, Gamlen veered across the road into eastbound traffic, CHP officials said.

The Nissan struck the passenger side of a 2005 Subaru Outback driven by 42-year-old Robert Olson, of Nevada City, according to the CHP.

Both vehicles came to rest in a vineyard off the west side of the road.

Gamlen suffered major injuries and was taken to the Santa Rosa hospital.

Olson and his passenger, 34-year-old Dawn Olson of Nevada City, were taken to and later released, CHP officials said.
