PG&E crews are working to repair the leak, which they estimate should take about an hour.

Though gas-leaks create risk of sudden explosions, the Sonoma Fire Department declined to evacuate the area, because the leak is well-contained. CHP crews have barricaded the area while repairs continue.

Though CHP officials expected the road to remain closed until 6 p.m., the street was opened up at 3:30 p.m., in time for the evening commute.
