Highway 12 Crash Blocks Kenwood Road

Traffic will be diverted this afternoon, following a two car accident.

A crash involving a Hyundai Elantra and a Ford pickup truck is blocking both lanes of state Highway 12 south of Santa Rosa, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The accident was reported around 2:40 p.m. just east of Dunbar Road in the Kenwood area.

Traffic is being diverted around the accident scene onto Sylvia Drive and Trinity Road, CHP Officer John Short said.

The Hyandai's roof was cut off to extricate the driver, Short said. One driver suffered major injuries and the other driver suffered minor injuries, Short said.

Highway 12 is expected to be closed until 4:30 p.m., Short said.
