Hit and Run Driver Arrested at Seven Flags Mobile Home Park After Fleeing Scene
Officers followed a trail of strewn debris
A man who fled the scene of a hit-and-run crash just outside Temelec left a trail of debris that lead California Highway Patrol officers, who were at the scene of tonight's crash, straight to his hiding place.
Firefighters and a CHP unit were stationed at Arnold Drive and West Watmaugh Road near Temelec, where authorities had closed the intersection because of a busted Pacific Gas & Electric transformer, CHP Officer Peter Van Eckhardt said.
A white Chevrolet Suburban, which had reportedly been driving recklessly as it approached the intersection, struck a pickup truck and fled the scene at about 6:50 p.m., Van Eckhardt said.

The driver of the SUV left a trail of destruction in his wake as he continued to damage property, Van Eckhardt said, allowing authorities to "follow the trail of fluid and debris to this mobile home park" a few blocks away.
The suspect allegedly broke into a mobile home at Seven Flags Sonoma Mobile and was climbing out the back window of the home when he was spotted by authorities, who chased him down, Van Eckhardt said.

The suspect was taken into custody at about 7:30 p.m., he said, and was being booked into Sonoma County Jail tonight.
No guns were involved, despite what Van Eckhardt said were initial reports of a weapon that turned out to be a cellphone.
The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office assisted the CHP in the response.
