Gunman Acting Strangely Arrested Near Kenwood Monday Night

Cory Solotky, age 31, of Washington State was booked into county jail.

Update Tuesday: The suspect is being held on $100,000 bail in Sonoma County Jail and is scheduled to be arraigned in Sonoma County Superior Court on Wednesday afternoon. -- Bay City News Service

Original story: Sonoma County Sheriff's deputies were called to an area of Hood Mountain Regional Park near Kenwood tonight for a man with a gun. Several witnesses reported seeing a white male adult with no shirt and dreadlock hair on the Good Speed trail inside the regional park area, according to Lt. Glenn Lawrence. Deputies were dispatched at approximately 5:25 p.m.

The subject was reportedly acting strangely, talking to himself and smashing rocks together. He was reported to be carrying a large knife on his waist and to have a gun.

Sheriff's deputies from both the Santa Rosa area and Sonoma Valley area responded. Deputies and Sheriff K9s were assisted by the California Highway Patrol helicopter airship to locate the subject, according to Lawrence. The man was found in the area described by witnesses and was reported to have a concealed firearm and a high capacity magazine.
 
Cory Solotky, age 31, of Washington State was arrested, Lawrence stated in a news release. He is charged with possession of a concealed firearm, possession of a high-capacity magazine and possession of a firearm in a county park. He was booked into Sonoma County Jail.
