Two burglars broke into a Sonoma home Thursday, stole various items and the car keys, then returned that night to take the car, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office.
A Sonoma resident living in the 400 block of Greve Lane returned home around 3pm Thursday to find two suspects in his garage. The men fled and the resident saw that they had loaded his Audi with items taken from his home.
But the thieves returned that night and using the stolen car keys, took the car.
One of the suspects, Nathan Paul Wilson, 18, of Rohnert Park, was arrested Friday after he was seen driving the stolen 2002 Audi on Bennett Valley Road.
A search revealed a wallet stolen from a parked car in Rohnert Park, including credit cards, which authorities say Wilson fraudulently used to make numerous purchases.
Wilson was arrested on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle, two counts of residential burglary, possession of stolen property, theft by use of credit card and driving on a suspended driver's license.
Detectives from the Sonoma County Property Crimes Investigation Unit are still following up leads on the second suspect and are seeking the public’s help. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Sal Borruso at (707) 565-2185.
