Mudslides, Fallen Trees Block County Roads

The California Highway Patrol is reporting that several trees and power poles have fallen in Sonoma County this morning because of the storm.

A 50-foot tree was close to falling on state Highway 116 at Ridgecrest Drive in the Monte Rio area around 10 a.m., according to the CHP.

A rock- and mudslide was reported on state Highway 1 south of Jenner at about 9:45 a.m., and a tree 12 inches in diameter fell onto Highway 1 at Pacific View Drive south of Jenner around 9:30 a.m., CHP officials said.

As of about 9:30 a.m., power lines and poles were down on westbound Eastside Road in the Windsor area, and a tree had fallen and blocked Watmaugh Road at Fifth Street near the city of Sonoma.

Trees and wires were reported down on Westside Road at West Dry Creek Road near Healdsburg, and a tree was blocking both lanes of Tomales Petaluma Road at Fairbanks Road in Marin County as of 10:10 a.m.

At about 10:15 a.m. it was hailing on the Sonoma County Administration Building in Santa Rosa.
