Runaway Truck Hits Boyes Hot Springs Restaurant

A lapsed parking brake caused the collision, which caused minimal damage to Mary's Pizza Shack

 

A runaway truck rolled down an embankment and into on Sunday, the Press Democrat is reporting.

The truck, property of a 61-year-old Glen Ellen man on a Sunday donut run, was parked on the shoulder of Hwy. 12 at Siesta Way.

The driver, Michael Bronson turned off his engine, but forgot to set the brake, leaving his key in the ignition. In all, the car rolled 300 feet down the side of the Hwy, over a sidewalk before nicking the side of Mary's Pizza Shack.

Overall, the damage was minimal.

"He was very lucky. It rolled right past a gas station," CHP Officer Ryan O'Day told the Press Democrat.
