Sonoma Homeowner Punches, Apprehends Prowler

The man walked up to the property owner, who then punched him several times before walking him to Broadway and Andrieux St., where he flagged down a patrolling deputy.

 

At 12:41 a.m. Monday morning a Sonoma couple was awakened by the sound of footsteps on the porch of their residence, on the 700 block of First Street West. 

Her husband investigated, and found an intruder standing in their kitchen. He was startled, and jumped out the kitchen window and fled towards the Sonoma Plaza, taking nothing with him.

A few blocks from the attempted burglary, a resident of the 600 block of Broadway found a man hiding in his side yard, at about 1:30 a.m. The man walked up to the property owner, who then punched him several times before walking him to Broadway and Andrieux St., where he flagged down a patrolling deputy. 

The suspect was identified by the initial burglary victims as being the person they saw inside their kitchen.

Deputies arrested Malcolm Cory Hermosillo, a recently-paroled 22-year-old El Verano resident and booked him at the county jail for residential burglary and violation of his Post Release Community Supervision Program.  Hermosillo is being held without bail.
