Sonoma Man Airlifted Following Arnold Drive Crash

California Highway Patrol officials identify the driver as 71-year-old Jerry Gamblin.

A car overturned on Arnold Drive north Wednesday night at 8:37 p.m., wrecking the vehicle and causing the vehicle's driver to be emergency airlifted to a nearby hospital

The blue 1999 Saturn overturned on Arnold just north of Bonness Road, according to CHP Public Information Officer Jaret Paulson.

The vehicle's lone occupant was the driver, Sonoma resident Jerry Gamblin, 71, who was air-lifted by REACH transport to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.

The vehicle careened off the side of the road, hitting a wooden poll and flipping over, according to Paulson.

Highway patrol officials are investigating whether an unsafe turning movement was the cause of the crash, said Paulson.

Officials did not release updates on Gamblin's status as of Thursday morning.
