Friday, Feb. 24

Property for Destruction: A Sonoma resident turned in two firearms for destruction.

Narcotics: Deputies stopped a blue ’00 Ford Taurus driving with expired registration. Inside the car, officers found 5.8 grams of marijuana. The driver was not issued a citation.

Property Found: Someone found two mountain bikes abandoned in some bushes on the 800 block of Fourth Street East.

Informational Report: A 13-year-old girl reported told police that a man approached her and tried to give her a ride in his red Honda, after a school bus dropped her off on the 19,300 block of Robinson Road. The man, who fits the description of previous attempted child abduction reports, is described as a Hispanic male with short hair with two decorative horizontal stripes cut into right side. He was wearing a rust-colored t-shirt at the time of the incident.

Informational Report: A 65-year-old Sonoma resident tripped over a meandering tree root in the Sonoma plaza and cut her head. She was transported to , treated and released.

Theft by use of Access Card: A Sonoma man reported that five unapproved charges were placed on his Credit Union debit card. The charges, ranging from $124.81 - $125, were placed at five separate Chevron stations, between Feb. 21 and 25, in Southern California. The last place the man used his card was at Chevron in Sonoma.

Sunday, Feb. 26

Informational Report: During a church function at an 11-year-old boy was playing with two older children, who convinced the boy to ‘ride’ a broom handle. When they lifted the boy up off the ground, as he straddled the wooden pole, he fell to the ground – injuring his genitals. He was treated at Sonoma Valley Hospital and released.

Tuesday, Feb. 28

Theft by Use of Access Card: A Sonoma resident reported three unapproved charges, ranging from $139.31 - $140, made on his Union 76 card. The charges were billed to businesses in Fresno.

Petty Theft: An employee of reported that a man, captured on security tape, shoplifted a wrench ­– valued at $72.42. The police department was able to id a suspect, using a photo lineup as a 42-year-old El Verano man.

Possession of Meth: A deputy stopped a man driving a black Ford Focus with expired registration on Junipero Serra Dr. The driver, Dwight Fuqua, a 47-year-old El Verano resident, told officers that he had two Viagra pills in the car and did not have a prescription for them. Officers searched the car, uncovering the pills in a prescription bottle with a blacked out name. They also uncovered .7 grams of methamphetamine, stashed in a plastic bag in Fuqua’s pants pocket. Fuqua was arrested, charged with possession of methamphetamine, driving on a suspended license and possession of Viagra without a prescription.
