Friday, Feb. 11

Theft: A blue three-speed “carmel cruiser” bike was taken from a carport on the 200 block of Second Street East.

Theft: Another bike, and securing chain, was stolen on the 1100 block of Broadway, sometime between 3:30 p.m. and 11 p.m.

Battery: A 30-year-old Santa Rosa man was cited charged with misdemeanor battery for a fight with a 38-year-old man that took place at .

Monday, Feb. 14

Vandalism: A five-gallon bucket of paint fell on a business on First Street East. A skylight was also broken.

Marijuana Possession: An anonymous student reported to principal Karla Conroy that fellow student had shown him a bag of marijuana during lunchtime. A faculty search of the reported party, a 13-year-old Boyes Hot Springs resident, uncovered a plastic bag with .5 grams of marijuana.

Hit and Run: Police apprehended a 57-year-old male who witnesses say drove his silver Ford F250 truck into a street light on West Napa Street at Second Street West, knocking it over, and then fled the scene.  The man told police he must have “fallen asleep” at the wheel.

Forgery: A Sonoma married couple reported four charges to their bank account. The charges were placed in Tucson, AZ, Arcadia, CA and New Berlin, WI. The couple believed their personal information, including their social security numbers, was compromised when they entered into a popup ad on their computer.

Trespassing: A bank employee reported that a sleeping bag, gloves and cigarette butt were found on the floor of a vacant for-sale house on Fifth Street West.

Forgery: A Sonoma woman discovered she was the victim of a forgery attempt when she received a phone from a man in Cincinnati, who’d received a Fed Ex package, addressed to his daughter, with a $2,400 from the Sonoma woman. A similar check was also mailed to someone in Maine. The woman believed that the forgery might have happened through a check she mailed to a company in Georgia, which never reached it’s recipient.

Thursday, Feb. 17

Petty Theft: A 28-year-old Sonoma woman placed an outgoing letter in her mailbox to be picked up at 8 a.m.  At 12:30 p.m. she noticed the letter missing, even though her afternoon mail was not delivered and reported the incident to police.

Probation Violation: A 29-year-old man, sentenced to a 90-day stint in at a rehabilitation facility for a drunk in public offense appeared at noon in the lobby of the , demanding personal items on hold at the department. Police confirmed that Dustin Roat ran from the facility on Feb. 7. They also found a bottle of unopened vodka in Roat’s belongings, another violation of his probation terms. He was charged with violating probation and booked into jail.

Drunk in Public: Police arrested a 36-year-old Boyes Hot Springs resident with being drunk in public. The man was unable to stand, said police, when they found him lurking in the entrance of . He was booked into county jail.
