Driving Under the Influence: A driver reported a white Hyundai Sonata, swerving and on Fifth Street West at Leveroni. The car was registered to an address on Acapulco Drive; police arrived on scene to wait for the driver. Around 8:29 p.m. John Etcheverry, 78, arrived home, driving the car. He appeared intoxicated, and told police he’d had “a few glasses of wine,” at the Elk’s Lodge in San Rafael. His blood alcohol level was .09, according to a breath test taken at the police department. He was cited for driving under the influence of alcohol, and was released to a friend.

Petty Theft: Between Oct. 1 – 10 someone stole a red backpack from the trunk of a car parked on the 400 block of Sanders Drive, the owner reported. Inside the backpack were emergency supplies, $150 in cash, food, contact information and clothing. The vehicle showed no signs of forced entry, and may have been left open.

Warrant: Brian Schmidt, a 47-year-old Sonoma man, was arrested at 7:56 p.m. on the 400 block of Patten Street on an outstanding warrant.

Sunday, Nov. 13

Vehicle Burglary: Someone stole a white Ford delivery van, parked on the 700 block of Broadway, as well as keys to a second van.

Monday, Nov. 14

Battery: At 3:05 p.m., 16-year-old girl reported that another girl attacked her in the parking lot of the . She said the other girl, a 14-year-old Sonoma resident, who the victim described a “former friend,” walked up to her, pulled her hair and punched her in the face several times, leaving redness around her left eye. The alleged attacker admitted to throwing the first punch, but she said she was provoked by the girl, who was “mean mugging” her and “got in her face” several times in the past. She was issued a citation for assault and battery and was referred to Youth and Family Services.

Property Found: A girl’s purple bike in fair condition was found abandoned at .

Petty Theft Report: At 7:30 p.m. an employee at spotted a man concealing a 32-oz bottle of beer, with a gold cap, in the pocket of his yellow puffy jacket, walking through the liquor isle. She followed him outside, but he refused to produce the item in his pocket. Surveillance video showed no signs of the man shoplifting, and by the time police arrived, the man has left the area.

Theft by Use of Access Card:  A Mastercard representative notified a Sonoma resident that someone had made two large charges on her account: the first on Amazon.com, and the second for a $1,600 electronic product. She canceled the transactions.

Wednesday, Nov. 16

Petty Theft bike: A man reported that someone stole his 9-year-old daughter's mountain bike from the bike rack at , where she left the bike unlocked. The bike is 21-speed mountain bike, black with white pin striping, 24-inch wheels – valued at $250.

Minor in Possession of Marijuana: At 10:45 a.m., a campus supervisor at sent a 17-year-old boy to the principal’s office, after she saw him walk from behind a bridge near the back of campus, reeking of burnt marijuana. Staff searched the boy and found a prescription bottle containing three marijuana buds and a roach. He was cited for possession of marijuana on school grounds, and was referred to Youth and Family Services.

Bomb Threat:at .  Five other students, two 17-year-olds and three 16-year-olds were cited for their involvement.
