Missing Gun: A women reported that a silver revolver was missing from her home, on the 500 block of Third St. West. The gun belonged to her husband, who had recently passed away, and was kept in their nightstand.

Recovered Car: An '82 Mercedes-Benz 300D stolen from Salinas, turned up in Sonoma, on the 1100 block of Brockman Ln. It was discovered after a neighbor reported it abandoned. The car received no immediately discernable damage.

Drinking Under Age: Police issued a citation to a 14-year-old Boyes Hot Springs resident, who attempted to enter 's grad night celebration after drinking. The boy was also wearing red - a violation of his probation requirement, which prohibited him from wearing 'norteno' colors. He was issued a citation for drinking under age, and violating probation.

DUI: Police stopped a green Ford Explorer, which had no rear license plate and a broken brake light, in the parking lot. The driver, James Stevens, a 56-year-old San Lorenzo resident appeared intoxicated and a breath test placed his blood alcohol level at .091, though Stevens said he only had two beers from . He was cited for driving under the influence and released to a sober friend.

Saturday, June 4

DUI: Police pulled over a white Toyota 4Runner, which they spotted swerving on Highway 12, just past Agua Caliente. The driver, Dana Faye, a 63-year-old Glen Ellen resident, registered with .16 percent blood alcohol on a preliminary screening test. He was booked into county jail, charged with one count each of driving under the influence, and violating probation.

Monday, June 6

Petty Theft: A deputy was patrolling the bike path near Highway 12 when he spotted a dirt-covered man carrying three freshly uprooted Japanese Maple trees. The man, a 53-year-old Boyes Hot Springs resident, admitted that he'd stolen the trees from a residence on the 600 block of Joaquin Dr.

Tampering: A man parked his motorcycle, which is for sale, on the 300 block of First St. East on June 3. On June 6, he discovered that someone had tried to punch his ignition to steal the vehicle. The perp. left behind the screwdriver that had been used.

Controlled Substances: A deputy stopped Christopher Collins, a 25-year-old transient, at the intersection of Calle Del Monte and Highway 12 to search him, which is allowed by Collins' probation terms. Collins failed sobriety tests, and during the pat down, police found a syringe in his pocket. He was charged with being under the influence of drugs, possessing drug paraphernalia and violating probation, and was booked into county jail.

Wednesday, June 8

Threats: The manager of told police that a dead headless snake was left at the shop's back door. She believed that recently laid off employees were responsible.

Driving While Toking: A patrolling deputy halted a green Honda, which ran a stop sign at First St. West and West Napa. When he approached the car, he smelled marijuana on the driver, Matthew Leavell, an 18-year-old Santa Rosa man. The officer recovered 26.6 grams of marijuana and an 18-back of Budweiser in the trunk. Leavell was issued a citation for possession of marijuana in a vehicle and being a minor in possession of alcohol.
