Springs Pets Rescued from Pre-Rapture Killing, Humanity Marches On

The rapture failed to materialize Saturday evening to annihilate humanity, but Sonoma County Animal Control confiscated William Tinker's pets to prevent a pre-doomsday slaughter.

News that a Boyes Hot Springs man his pets before the Saturday's predicted spread like wildfire, as friends and neighbors rushed to come to the aid of the animals.

The rapture didn't come, but Animal Control did.

As CBS San Francisco reports Sonoma County Animal Control stopped by Tinker's residence Friday evening and after confirming his plans, chose to board his pets through the weekend.

"Based on some of the comments that Mr. Tinker made, I wanted to insure the safety of the pets," said Amy Cooper, director of Sonoma County Animal Care and Control.

"I think we'll let tomorrow pass," Cooper said. "The shelter is closed on Sunday and Monday and we'll also be in contact with Mr. Tinker. And if on Sunday or Monday the staff can be in contact and we'll make that happen."
